Gaming chair to TV app: HaloShort or phone casting?
After a gaming session, you might want to switch to a short drama without leaving the gaming chair. Before trying to cast from your phone, check which device is feeding the screen and whether HaloShort can be installed on it.
TV app: keep everything on the remote
HaloShort is an Android TV short drama app. Running directly on a compatible Android TV, Google TV, or Android box, you can browse with the directional keys, confirm, and back buttons, then pick an episode and play it. For everyday browsing, you just use that device's remote.
If the game visuals originally came from a computer or console, sharing the same screen doesn't mean they can run this TV app. To use the TV version, you still need to find a compatible Android device. You don't need to change the chair, but you do need to know which device is actually providing the picture.
Phone casting requirements depend on the specific method
Phone mirroring and app-initiated casting may have different device and software requirements. The existence of HaloShort's TV version doesn't automatically mean a particular casting protocol is supported. To learn how to get the TV version, you can search for HaloShort in the Emotn store and then confirm based on your specific device.
Once you decide to use the TV app directly, it's worth trying out what the game controller and TV remote each control. Enter an episode, find pause, then sit back in your usual spot in the gaming chair to read subtitles—that'll tell you whether this kind of switching suits your habits.
The app's content is currently free to watch. What really matters is which confirmed working path makes it easy for you to browse and easy to stop—no need to debug every combination of phone, computer, and TV just for a short break.
